Joseph was a draper at the time of his marriage to Charlotte Savage living at Pavement Clapham, but later changed his occupation to a butcher which was the business of his father in law living at Bridge St Norwich and he probably took over the business when Robert Savage died. Joseph and Charlotte were first cousins
